ROSPA 0413 Tisa Superioara Site has a special importance for the movement of water birds because of its geographical position. It forms a corridor in the Eastern Carpathians, in the direction of the East-West passage over the Tisa valley in autumn and vice versa in spring. Species of the genera Anser, Anas, Grus, Vanellus pass along this valley in sizable flocks of hundreds or even thousands of individuals. The Tisa River, including the river meadows and the riverside coppice, is an excellent habitat for wintering.
