ACTIVITY 4. TRAINING ACTIVITIES AND AWARENESS RAISING OF THE TARGET GROUP ON THE TOURISTIC CAPITALIZATION OF NATURA2000 SITES

 Name of activity / sub-activities:

 Sub-activity 4.1. Formation of the target group (local community representatives, NGOs, local and county public authorities, tourism operators) on valorising the benefits of ecosystems for tourism purposes
  • The National Partner team conducted a sociological survey to identify ecological attitudes, based on which it conducted a sociological study (1 status report on awareness degree of local community).

  • In order to carry out the sociological study proposed by the national partner, he coordinated the application of 2 opinion polls, including the elaboration of questions, data processing, data interpretation, checks of statistical trends by applying specific calculations.

  • Following the organization of information sessions on the biodiversity of the two Natura 2000 sites, organized by the Project Promoter and the national partner, a number of 517 trained participants were registered (400 participants being assumed by the grant application). The participants were pupils, students and teachers from the pre-university and university environment.
  • From the series of dissemination events to the project results and target audience information, 4 information sessions were organized. The project promoter organized two sessions, in Cluj-Napoca, in the academic environment: one at the headquarters of Faculty of Geography Babeş-Bolyai University with a theme focused on the protection, conservation and economic development of protected natural areas (presentation by Ciprian Corpade, territorial analyst within the project promoter team); the second session was within the Faculty of Science and Environmental Engineering of the Babeş-Bolyai University, with an interactive presentation dedicated to the importance of biodiversity in the two Natura 2000 sites Pricop – Huta Certeze and Tisa Superioara (a presentation by Sabin Bădărău). Both sessions were preceded by a presentation of the objectives, activities and results proposed by the project, supported by project manager Răzvan Bătinas. For both sessions have been made posters, agenda and list of participants. The national partner organized two other information sessions in Rona de Sus and Baia Mare (Neniţescu High School, profile: environmental protection).
  • Photos taken on field in field documentation as well as creating textual information associated with project results were also found in the creation of leaflets by the national partner, 600 flyers being disseminated by them in these events.
  • In order to promote information sessions, the National Partner drew up the model, the printing and the dissemination of 40 posters.

  • Another visual result of the project was the organization of a photographic exhibition, with 100 exposed photographs, aiming to raise the awareness of the target audience on the values ​​of the Natura 2000 sites and the benefits of the ecosystems in the analysed area. The Project Promoter team selected photos representative of the photographic exhibition, photo format and display mode, selecting the final layout with visibility elements, and made a short description of the content of the photos, with the author’s mention. All the photos were taken in the fieldwork of the teams in the partnership. The project promoter organized 1 photographic exhibition, in the period 14-24.11.2016, in two locations (the Faculty of Geography, headquarters of the Babeş-Bolyai University), while the national partner also organized a SAFARI photographic exhibition traveling in November 2016 as part of events held in schools, mayoralties.
  • During the photo exhibition organized and promoted by the Project Promoter and the national partner, 100 photos were exhibited in Cluj-Napoca, to which 24 others were added for the photo exhibition organized by the national partner in the localities.
  • Within the target group training (students, students), the national partner organized 3 national competitions, where 517 participants competed. Based on a methodology developed by the national partner, all three competitions were conducted under the coordination of the national partner.

·         According to an eco-calendar methodology developed by the national partner for environmental events in schools, it has made 85 Eco-events in partnership with institutions from the pre-university environment. Some of the events took place in the form of school symposiums (SOS O3 ozone – Alexandu Ioan Cuza General School in Baia Mare, Lucian Blaga General School in Baia Mare) dedicated to the awareness of the negative impact of irresponsible behaviours on the ozone layer and environment and long-term effects on the health of the environment and people. Other events were organized on the occasion of celebrating thematic days, focusing on highlighting the forms of anthropogenic pressure exerted on the species and habitats of community interest (Remeţi, Craciunesti School, Sighet School no. 10, Sighet Technological High School, Petrova School, Rona de Sus, Rona de Jos , Câmpulung la Tisa, Sarasau, Valea Vişeului, Leordina, Lucian Blaga Baia Mare, Alex Ioan Cuza from Baia Mare, Technical College A. Saligny Baia Mare, Transilvania Baia Mare, Sighet School 5, Dragos Voda Sighet College, University Center North of Baia Mare). Also, the national partner was involved in coordinating students for participation in the Environmental Olympics by presenting a maternal Tisza and Green Business Ideas (Lucian Blaga Baia Mare School and Titulescu Economic College) or organizing some activities related to Ukrainian traditions (Rona de Sus).

  • Within the 85 Eco-events attended by 2536 pupils / students of the 40300 participants assume the application.
  • Through the 85 events held in the territory Eco-national partner has realized a number 15216 of 80600 parents assume the application.
  • Estimated involvement in the Eco-events of a teaching staff of 130 teachers, events organized by national partner involved 1025 teachers.
  • In the event of information and awareness of the target group, national partner organized three thematic workshops, in which they presented information on species and habitats of conservation interest Community of two Natura 2000 sites and related information sources of pollution or the way in which biodiversity conservation can be managed.
  • During the course of three workshops organized on the national partner, attended 220 students that after receiving the information can become opinion makers.
Sub-activity 4.2. Public consultations with decision-makers
  • To inform the target group (local inhabitants) were held nine public consultation (26 assumed in the application form). Project promoter has organized public consultation in Rona de Jos, Rona de Sus, Petrova, Certeze and Sarasau between 14-17.11.2016. For these public consultations were carried out invitations to all the municipalities in the area and were scheduled telephone meetings data. To promote them and attract a high audience, posters and schedule of the meeting were disseminated. National Partner 1 organized for public consultations in Negreşti-Oaş, Certeze and Băile Felix.
  • In order to disseminate promotional materials during information and awareness events of the target group, there have been produced and distributed over 3,000 leaflets / brochures (3500 leaflets by national partner team, 200 team project promoter).
  • In order to advertise and promote the information and awareness events of the targeted group 200 posters were made and distributed (200 posters by partner national team, 20 team project promoter).
  • Dissemination of promotional materials for the information and awareness events of the targeted group were produced and distributed over 5,500 flyers (5500 flyers by national partner team, 200 brochures / per locality by the project promoter team).
  • Out of 2600 participants / stakeholders informed during the public consultations as indicator has been reached a number of 95 participants by project promoter team.
  • The National Partner team has conducted 1 questionnaire for identifying ecological attitudes.The project leader team carried out also a survey on awareness of local communities on the Natura 2000 sites, implemented during several events organized between 14-18.11.2016.75 questionnaires were applied and their interpretation was used to create a sociological paper included in the final integrated study.In total, they were made two questionnaires applications on awareness of participants on ecosystem values.
